“Raising Funds Through Art” – The Humane Society of Sarasota County

http://www.yourwallart.com

As part of our effort to help our local charities with my “Raising Funds Through Art” initiative, I will spotlight our resident artist, Joesph Palotas, and The Humane Society of Sarasota County this Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m.

For the month of May, Joe and I have chosen The Humane Society of Sarasota County’s (HSSC) “Paws on the Catwalk” event to be held at Michaels on East May 13th.

To help with their cause and the event, I commissioned Joe to paint an original oil and acrylic canvas entitled “The Odd Couple”. It depicts a sassy cat driving a dog in an old Chevy that makes me laugh out loud each time I see it. It is truly a great piece for the dog or cat lover in all of us.

The framed painting will be donated for the live auction during the HSSC event on May 13th. However, I urge you to come out to the gallery Friday night, enjoy some wine and antipasto, meet Joe and put in a sealed bid for his painting. I will carry the highest bid to the event and hopefully be calling to give you the news that you were the highest bidder!
